Most weeks I do have somewhat of a Menu Plan put together. I try not to eat out more than once a week, but even that seems expensive, especially if I have a few trips to the vending machine during the week too. I have been thinking more about subscribing to a Menu Plan so I can have it already put together and just go shopping. I can't cook ahead more than a meal or two because our freezer is packed 95% of the time.
Here are the Menu Plan subscriptions I am thinking about:
Bikini Body Mommy
-4 12 Week Plans, one for each season, each $29.99 then $9.99/ month after getting the Monthly Subscription
- healthy meals (gluten-free, grain-free, refined sugar-free), based on two people eating, but easy to increase for more people, nutrition information
eMeals
- 12 months $58; 6 months $48; 3 months $30 for dinners
- also can add breakfast, lunch and dessert plans for additional amounts
- 16 different meal plans to choose from
Plan to Eat
-$4.95/month or $39/year
-compiles recipes from web, others who use Plan to Eat or your own
-make a grocery list that you can see on your phone and puts recipes in to a calendar
100 Days of Real Food
- 5 7 day plans, free to sign up
- healthy real food at a low cost for a family of four
Saving Dinner.com
- Basic service $15/ 3 months or $47/year to get a pdf of recipes each week of 4 meal plans: Classic, Paleo, Low Carb, and Daytime
- Premium service is a application online and on your phone for $12/month or $120/year that has new menu plans each week plus you can look back on past menus and add to calendar and create a shopping list.
These all seem like they would be useful, but I don't know if want to spend money every month. I did sign up for the 100 Days of Real Food. I would like to do the Bikini Body Mommy because I am having success following her Challenge. I don't think eMeals will work since I have a feeling most of the menu would be something we wouldn't eat. Plan to Eat and Saving Dinner are similar, but I like that Plan to Eat has a mobile site for my phone so I can see/check off my shopping list. From the video it sounded like Saving Dinner has an app in the works. I know my weight loss can be accelerated if I just stick to a more healthy eating plan so I'm looking for something to help me stick to it.

Menu Plan
The other day was another snow storm, so I picked up my kids from their early out and made homemade hot cocoa. It was so much better than a packet. My daughter even said the other day it really helped her practice her violin. Here are a few easy recipes:
Hershey's Hot Cocoa for One
Nestle Toll House Hot Cocoa (Serves 4)
Now that I have a second job, I have not had a day off for weeks. I really didn't expect a part time job to schedule me every day I am available, but they are and I'm earning money. It isn't too bad, I just need to be more organized and it does make me tired. I want to shop for two weeks at a time so two Saturdays a month I don't have to go grocery shopping.
14 meals:
1. chicken leg quarters with mashed potatoes
2. spaghetti
3. pork chops with corn and carrots
4. steak tacos
5. chicken salad
6. turkey burgers with baked potatoes
7. mac and cheese
8. taco ring
9. tuna patties with grapes
10. chicken fried rice
11.baked sweet and sour chicken and rice
12. mexican pork bowl and rice
13. BBQ pork sandwich with apples
14. beef and broccoli and rice

Menu Plan - 12 Dinner Ideas
In December I found Dave Ramsey has his own radio show on iHeart Radio. I like to listen at work to talk radio and this is right up my alley, being noisy in other peoples problems. It also is helpful place for inspiration. I did sit down with my husband with the budget, and I even plan on getting a second job to pay down our debt. We aren't completely following the Ramsey plan, but if you listen long enough to The Dave Ramsey Show, you find that no two situations or alike and you need to do what works for your family, as long as your not getting into more debt that is.
Last week I did do a menu plan, I just didn't put it up so here is what we ate:
Sunday - soup
Monday - steak tacos, and rice
Tuesday - chicken, rice and corn
Wednesday - breakfast for dinner: eggs, toast and sausage
Thursday -frozen salmon with lemon pepper seasoning, broccoli, and mac & cheese
Friday - pizza made with frozen bread, can sause and pizza cheese
Saturday - Beef Roast with green bean casserole
For this week, 7 days, 7 meals:
Creamy Chicken Casserole
Pizza
Creamy Ramon with Bacon
Turkey Spaghetti
Baked Salmon with dijon broccoli
Pork Chops, corn and mashed potatoes
Classed Chopped Salad with bread

It has been a long time since I have posted a meal plan. We have been eating a lot of the same things around here and I think we are all sick of it. Menu Plan Monday
After last week I didn't do too bad with resisting bread. I have cut down a lot on my dairy and trying to resist sweets. I really didn't work out too much this week. I had a power yoga class on Monday which was really tough but it was canceled on Wednesday since we had a lot of snow. I did end up losing some weight and I am finally in the 120's. If I can lose 10-15 more pounds I will be ecstatic (I'm barely 5' so I don't think this is irrational).
This week we will be having:
Monday- homemade spaghetti sauce with ground beef and whole wheat noodles; (I'm going to make spaghetti squash noodles to have with the sauce)
Tuesday- steak tacos, and I will have a steak salad
Wednesday- broccoli with italian sausage
Thursday- chicken salad
Friday- baked mac and cheese, while I have cauliflower mac and cheese
Saturday-
Breakfast: eggs and bacon
Lunch: leftovers
Dinner: wild rice with crispy chicken
Sunday-
Breakfast: berry crumble from Primal Blueprint Quick and Easy Meals by Mark Sisson and Jennifer Meier
Lunch: tex mex carnitas served with lettuce and flax tortillas
Dinner: chicken with gravy and sweet potato gratin
I'm not sure if out meat will be organic this week, but I'm going to see how it goes.

Menu Plan Monday
It is January 27, 2013 and I have finally packed up all the Christmas decorations. I had the two cardboard boxes filled with some supplies but I filled one will things to get rid of and the other one I was able to just empty into my other containers. My next step will be getting them into the basement. I did keep my lights even though I had a lot of burned out lights in 3 stands. My husband didn't think it would be a good idea to throw out expensive lights without trying to fix them. We will see what will happen next year.
Starting today is a 10 week healthy challenge at work. I am on a team and we have competitions to see who can lose the most weight and who is the most active. I would like to start everyday with 30-60 minutes of walking on a treadmill. This week I have power yoga schedules on Monday and Wednesday night. I would really like to get back in my running routine but I'm not sure yet. I just read The Primal Blueprint: Updated and Expanded (Paperback Edition) so now I have new thoughts on what I should be eating and how I should exercise. In his book he suggest eating no grains, more meat and vegetable, and exercise less. Right now I am stuck at 132 lbs. I tried doing Crossfit but I burned out quick. It is too intense of a workout to do everyday. I couldn't find any advise on beginning Crossfit besides doing less but I have a tendency to push myself and then get down when I can't do the workout and quit. I am still having heart burn issues. I am trying to figure out what is causing all my heartburn. I'm under a lot of stress keeping up with 40 hours a week, two kids and my husband who works long hours, but I would like to think the cause is my diet. The hard part of starting the Primal Diet is the cost. I have found some helpful websites:
Mark's Daily Apple author of The Primal Blueprint
Whole9 30 Days to Change Your life
There are a lot more out there but these are just some I came across on Saturday. I searched for Primal on Pinterest and was able to come up with the some blogs with recipes who listed their favorite websites. I had no idea this other world existed.
But for this week we will be having:
Monday- homemade spaghetti sauce with ground turkey and whole wheat noodles; (I'm going to make spaghetti squash noodles to have with the sauce)
Tuesday- steak tacos, and I will have a steak salad
Wednesday- pizza; I'm going to have pizza frittata
Thursday- chicken salad
Friday- baked mac and cheese
Saturday-
Breakfast: primal banana cream cookies
Lunch: leftovers
Dinner: wild rice with crispy chicken
Sunday-
Breakfast: banana crepes
Lunch: brussel sprouts with bacon,
Dinner: meatloaf and mashed potatoes
I'm not sure if out meat will be organic this week, but I'm going to see how it goes.
